1. Understanding the Timeline Interface
Timeline Panel: This is where you arrange your clips. It is divided into video and audio tracks.
Playhead: The vertical blue line that moves across the timeline as your video plays. You can click and drag it to navigate through your project.
Tracks: Video tracks are labeled V1, V2, V3, etc., and audio tracks are labeled A1, A2, A3, etc. You can add multiple tracks to layer your clips.
Clips: These are the video and audio files you import into your project. They appear as rectangular bars on the timeline.
Markers: These are used to mark specific points in your timeline for reference or to add notes.
2. Basic Operations
Adding Clips to the Timeline:
Drag and drop clips from the Project panel directly onto the timeline.
Use the Source Monitor to play and mark in and out points, then click the "Play to Sequence" button to add the clip to the timeline.
Moving Clips:
Click and drag clips to move them along the timeline.
Use the arrow keys for fine adjustments.
Trimming Clips:
Click and drag the edges of a clip to trim it.
Use the Razor Tool (快捷键 C) to split clips at the playhead position.
Ripple and Roll Edits:
Ripple Edit: Deletes or extends the space a clip occupies, moving all subsequent clips. Use the B key to activate the Ripple Edit tool.
Roll Edit: Adjusts the overlap between two clips. Use the F key to activate the Roll Edit tool.
3. Working with Multiple Tracks
Adding Tracks:
Right-click on the timeline and select "Add Video Track" or "Add Audio Track" to add more tracks.
Nesting Clips:
Select multiple clips, right-click, and choose "Nest" to combine them into a single clip. This is useful for applying effects to multiple clips at once.
4. Audio Editing
Audio Levels:
Use the audio meters to monitor and adjust audio levels. Click and drag the volume line in the audio clip to adjust the volume.
Audio Effects:
Apply audio effects like EQ, reverb, and compression from the Effects panel to enhance your audio.
5. Video Effects and Transitions
Applying Effects:
Drag and drop effects from the Effects panel onto your clips. Common effects include color correction, blur, and speed changes.
Adding Transitions:
Drag and drop transitions from the Effects panel between clips to create smooth transitions. Adjust the transition duration by clicking and dragging the edges.
6. Markers and Comments
Adding Markers:
Move the playhead to the desired position and press M to add a marker. You can also right-click and select "Add Marker."
Editing Markers:
Double-click a marker to edit its properties, including adding comments and setting colors.
7. Exporting Your Project
Export Settings:
Go to File > Export > Media to open the Export Settings dialog.
Choose the format, resolution, and bitrate that best suits your project and target platform.
Exporting:
Click "Export" to render and save your video. Monitor the progress in the Export Queue panel.
Tips and Tricks
Keyboard Shortcuts: Learn and use keyboard shortcuts to speed up your workflow. For example, I and O set in and out points, X and Z zoom in and out of the timeline.
Snap to Edits: Enable snapping by pressing S to align clips precisely.
Track Locking: Lock tracks to prevent accidental changes by clicking the lock icon next to each track.
